State National Bank, SNB Gives, and Texas Bankers Association (TBA) Support Groom Fire Department with Investment in Communication Technology

Groom, Texas, JUNE 9, 2025

State National Bank, in collaboration with SNB Gives, and the Texas Bankers Association (TBA), is proud to support the Groom Fire Department through a recent investment in new radios, enhancing the department’s communication capabilities and operational efficiency.

Cassie Ashford, Executive Vice President of Bank Operations at State National Bank, shared her appreciation for the local volunteers:  “We are proud of the leadership Mason Miller, Groom Volunteer Fire Department Chief, has demonstrated and the dedication of our local volunteers who consistently give their personal time to keep our community safe.”

This investment is part of a broader commitment by State National Bank to strengthen community resilience, especially in the wake of the 2024 wildfires that affected Northern Texas.

Inspired by that experience and its partnership in the community response, State National Bank provided the initial donation to launch the SNB Gives 501(c )(3) non-profit, as an extension of its mission to help build legacies, enhance communities, and enrich lives.

SNB Gives provides disaster relief and long-term support to local organizations, first responders, and communities. “Our first responders are the backbone of our community,” said Deke Alexander, President & CEO of State National Bank. “We are honored to support their work and stand beside them in times of need. This partnership reflects our mission to serve and uplift our community—especially during moments of crisis.” continued Alexander.

Beyond financial contributions, State National Bank and SNB Gives will continue to engage with fire departments and emergency personnel throughout the Texas Panhandle. The organizations plan to host community events focused on disaster preparedness and recovery, including workshops and informational sessions to help families better navigate emergencies.

State National Bank remains steadfast in its mission to enhance communities, recognizing that a well-supported fire department significantly increases the attractiveness of our community. As our local fire department improves productivity, invests in advanced technology, and focuses on the training and development of volunteers, it creates a safer environment that appeals to new families moving to the area. A robust fire department not only ensures the safety of residents but also contributes to a lower overall cost of living by reducing risks and insurance costs. Families want reassurance that their community has well-equipped first responders ready to support them, and this investment enhances the community, making Groom a more desirable place to live and thrive.

State National Bank and SNB Gives extend their gratitude to the Texas Bankers Association, its leadership, and the Texas Bankers Foundation, for their partnership and philanthropic support in this, and other endeavors supporting the North Texas Panhandle communities.

“Partnerships like this are what community banking is all about,” added Alexander.
